A local team, and a refusal to oversell.
You deal with the same local team on the phone, at your sink, and at every service visit.
You get the numbers first
Most water treatment here’s sold the same way. Someone comes to your kitchen and runs a test you can’t read. At the end of a long evening you get a number. The number depends on how the evening went. We built this the other way round. You get the numbers in writing, and you keep them whether you buy or not.
Better to lose the job than argue with the utility
The free test ends with an answer. Sometimes the answer is that you need nothing. That happens more than you’d think on city water. Cleveland Water tells its own customers a whole-house softener isn’t needed. We aren’t going to argue with them to make a sale. It costs us one job and earns the next.
A number without a source is a sales tactic
A whole part of this site exists to show its workings. Every figure comes from a yearly report or a published study. The source is linked. The date we last checked it sits beside it. Read the water pages and you can check us against the people who took the readings.
What you can hold us to
- We’ll tell you to skip it — the free test sometimes ends with “you don’t need anything”, and on Cleveland water the utility says so itself.
- Every figure is sourced — the water pages quote a yearly report, link it, and show the date we last checked it.
- Standard parts, so you aren’t stuck with us — Fleck and Clack valves, which any plumber can service and anyone can buy.
- Real reviews only, and none invented — every review we show is a real Google review, quoted unedited, from someone whose water we tested.
