This statement covers bedrockwaterco.com, the website of Bedrock Water LLC, based in Streetsboro, Ohio.
What we aim for
Anyone should be able to read this site, book a water test and reach us, whatever device or assistive technology they use. The standard we measure the site against is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, at level AA. That is our target. This page is our own account of how the site meets it, not the result of an outside audit.
What the site does
- A skip link at the top of every page jumps straight to the main content.
- Everything works from a keyboard, and every link, button and form field shows a visible focus outline, on light backgrounds and dark ones.
- Body text has a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background. We never make text lighter to make it quieter.
- The main buttons, the menu links and the footer links are at least 48 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the site turns off its animations and scrolls without sliding.
- Every page declares its language, so a screen reader uses the right voice.
- Every image carries a text description, or is marked as decoration so it is skipped.
- The booking form moves one question at a time when JavaScript runs, and shows every question at once when it does not. The quiz needs JavaScript to work out a result; without it, the page gives a short written version instead. Every other page reads without JavaScript.
What we know is not perfect
- The map on each county page is an embed from Google, and we do not control how it works with a screen reader. The towns it covers are written out in text on the same page.
- Our water pages link to reports published by utilities and government agencies. Some are scanned or laid out in columns that read poorly with a screen reader. If you need one read out or summarised, ask us and we will do it.
